About us

20 years of craft — from Royal Palaces to Norfolk homes.

Founded by Ian Rodway, a hands-on craftsman who refuses to become office-bound. Every project gets his personal involvement.

Ian Rodway · Founder

Over 20 years on the tools — and still on every site.

Ian's career began with an apprenticeship in Essex, working as a sub-contractor where he quickly became known for the speed and quality of his work. Several years in London followed, taking him to many prestigious locations — most of the Government office buildings, the Palace of Westminster and the Royal Palaces among them.

In 2001 a family move brought Ian to Norfolk, and he soon began working as a contractor in his own right. Word of mouth and an uncompromising approach to quality meant that before long he needed help — and now enlists selected sub-contractors who all work to the same high standards he insists on.

Despite the business growing, Ian believes his personal involvement in every project is crucial. He's a hands-on leader of the team, not an office-bound boss.

Multi-skilled craftsman

One of the few truly multi-skilled craftsmen working today.

Combining new and traditional methods, Ian has led or been involved in projects including:

  • Barn conversions
  • Loft conversions
  • Property renovations & listed buildings
  • New build projects
  • Oak-framed buildings
  • Fitted & bespoke kitchens
  • Fitted & bespoke bedrooms
  • Home offices
  • Bespoke furniture
  • Garden buildings & structures
  • Office & industrial unit refits
  • Shop-fitting
  • Trade van panelling & shelving

This is by no means an exhaustive list — if your next project isn't here, it doesn't mean we can't help. Please give us a call to find out more.

Helen · Operations

Helen — Ian's long-suffering wife — provides all the day-to-day support for the business and is responsible for everything administrative. From quotes to invoices to keeping the diary in order, she keeps the wheels turning.

Even off the clock

Even in his spare time, Ian can't be too far from his trade. His personal projects include a replica Land Rover — built entirely from wood.
